歴史的にみても長い友好関係にある日本とオレゴン州との絆を常づね誇りに思っておりますが、１９８４年にオレゴン州政府駐日代表部を東京に設置して以来、貿易、投資、観光の面を通じ両者の関係はさらに一層深いものとなり、日本はオレゴン州にとって最大のビジネスパートナーとなっております。文化、教育面の交流も極めて活発です。
２０世紀最後の今年、２０００年にオレゴン州政府東京事務所の日本語版インターネットを開設し貿易、投資、観光、文化面に関し、日本の皆様に、より簡単に、より多くの オレゴンに関する情報をご提供できることになりました。このウェブサイトが皆様のお役に立つことを念願しております。
"With a long standing partnership between Japan and Oregon, our relationship strengthens every day. In 1984 we opened our first Oregon overseas office in Tokyo. Since that time we have seen the Oregon-Japan relationship blossom in key areas of development: international trade, Japanese company investment in Oregon, business-to-business interactions, education, tourism, and sister city and state relationships. Through these people-to-people connections, our mutual understanding has increased and continues to develop to the benefit of Oregon and Japan.
