知事挨拶
オレゴン州と日本は、それぞれの地に住む人々や経済、文化で互いに強い関係で結ばれています。オレゴン州の企業が日本市場に提供する貿易品やサービス業務を通して、わたくしどもは日本の皆様と互いに利益を共有しています。2010年の貿易額は、オレゴン製品の対日輸出が14億ドル、日本製品の輸入が32億ドルにのぼっており、日本はオレゴン州にとって重要なビジネス・パートナーとなっています。
わたくしどもオレゴン州政府は、1984年に最初の海外貿易事務所を東京に開設して以来、多くのオレゴン企業の日本における事業活動を支援するとともに、オレゴン州を多くの日本企業に紹介する活動を続けてきました。オレゴン州政府駐日代表部は、こうして培われた関係を維持しながら、太平洋の両側に位置するオレゴンと日本の企業や地方自治体の利益の増進に努めてきました。わたくしどもはその駐日代表部を通じて、さらに多くの日本企業の皆様とともに働きたいと考えており、同様に日本の皆様もオレゴンとの協同業務を前向きに考えているであろうことを願っています。
Oregon and Japan have strong ties between our people, our economies and our cultures. We have a mutually beneficial relationship with the nation of Japan, with many Oregon businesses trading goods and services in Japanese markets. Japan is an important business partner of our state; Oregon exported $1.4 billion in goods to Japan in 2010, while we imported $3.2 billion in Japanese goods.
In 1984 we opened our first Oregon overseas office in Tokyo. Since that time we have been able to help many Oregon companies conduct business in the nation of Japan, and have also introduced many Japanese companies to the state of Oregon. Our Japanese Representative Office continues to make these connections, and they have been of great benefit to businesses and communities on both sides of the Pacific. We look forward to working with more Japanese companies through our office in Japan, and I hope you look forward to doing business with Oregon.
